Abstract
Social media at this time is very favored by various groups and considered quite effective for use by Indonesian people, one of the example is the use of social media WhatsApp. WhatsApp is considered quite effective for finding information, including information on work between employees in Politeknik Kesehatan Kementrian Kesehatan Yogyakarta. Therefore, researchers are interested in examining Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta as research subjects. This research aims to examine the magnitude of influence use of social media WhatsApp as a fulfillment of work information needs. The sampling of respondents used in this study is probability sampling with cluster random sampling method. This research uses theory of information seeking behavior. The method used is a quantitative method with a survey method for filling out questionnaires. The results of the study found that there was a positive and significant relationship from the use of WhatsApp social media to the fulfillment of work information needs. The magnitude of the effect is known to be 52.6%. So, the more often you use WhatsApp, the more you will get work information every day. And information needs of employees Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta as fulfilled.
