Abstract

The importance of this research is to find out the happiness that is felt and the reasons for surviving honorary teachers so that the world of education is able to observe this. This study aims to find, explore and analyze the description and factors of the happiness of honorary primary school teachers with salaries below the Regional Minimum Wage. The informants were 4 honorary teachers (2 women, 2 men) and their significant other. This research used purposive sampling. The criteria for informants are male and female honorary teachers, married. Data collection in this study used semi-structured interviews and documentation. This research methodology is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The method of data analysis in this study using content analysis. The results showed that the description of the happiness of honorary teachers included: 1) accepting the conditions and salary obtained sincerely, which was included in the acceptance theory 2) students who understood the lessons as well as outstanding students who were included in achievement theory 3. ) get support from family, husband, wife as a whole, which is included in affection. 4) gratitude in living life, which is a new finding in this study. Happiness factors include: 1) feeling comfortable and fun being a teacher 2) support from husband/wife, children, and parents. From the picture and factors of happiness, happiness is what gives them a resillience and keep maintaining their job as a teacher.
