Abstract

This research is motivated by the high import of Saudi Arabian military weapons in collaboration with the 2030 vision in the economic category. Vision 2030, generated by the sharp decline in oil prices in 2014, caused Saudi Arabia to experience disruptions in the economic sector at that time. Apart from that, Saudi Arabia is also constrained by the upcoming unemployment problem and makes Saudi Arabia need to open up new opportunities in the economic sector. The formulation of the problem in this research is what is the role of military policy in supporting the 2030 vision? and how does regional hegemony analyze the 2030 vision, Saudi Arabia's military policy, and the stability of the Middle East? This study uses the theory of hegemony which was initiated by Antonio Gramsci and Miriam Prys. This research includes library research using qualitative methods, which is carried out in three stages. The first stage, the data categorization stage. The second stage, analysis of the data obtained to answer the formulation of the problem that has been set. The third stage, the stage of concluding the data that has been analyzed to provide answers to each of the problems raised. This research results that: first, the role of Saudi Arabia's military policy in supporting the 2030 vision whose goal is to increase the country's economic income, Saudi Arabia will license GAMI and SAMI to produce firearms, ammunition, military explosives, military equipment, individual military equipment, and electronics. the military also opens up business opportunities in the military industry to open up new opportunities in the state's economic opinion. Second, this research is based on the hegemonic theory of Antonio Gramsci and Miriam Prys that Saudi Arabia when viewed from the economic, military, political domination, and influence sectors, has the potential as a regional hegemonic country in the Middle East region. This is reinforced by support from external or US actors. The inhibiting factor of Saudi Arabia's regional hegemony dominance is hampered by Iran which claims itself as a natural hegemony in achieving regional hegemony in the Middle East region. Because each regional power has the tools to withstand the influence of other hegemonic countries. Meanwhile, its effect on the stability of the Middle East is the creation of security instability with increasing concern for every country in the Middle East region that can trigger open war and result in many victims and a past that has the nuances of conflict or war as a general picture.
