Abstract

The transformation from IAIN to UIN Yogyakarta on 2004 has give birth to a new scientific model, that is patterned Integration-Interconnection by Amin Abdullah. The model of scientific tradition Integrasi-interkoneksi is core velues developed, fought for, and implemented by UIN Yogyakarta with illustrations scientific spider web, and pursuing the scientific treasure trilogy; Hadlarah al-Nas, Hadlarah al-Ilm, dan Hadlarah al-Falsafah. The purpose is to bring together islamic sciences with modern sciences while offering a new world-view of religious people and scientists, that is interconnected entitis with spirit inter-dimensional or multi-disipliner. So, whatever the Faculties and study programs, in the environment of UIN Yogyakarta all conduct comprehensive islamic studies, and adapted to their respective scientific fields. In such context, this research highlights Faculties of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Faculty of Economics and Business Islam as scientific with wider mandate which must be developed by UIN Yogyakarta, why application scientific Integration and Interconnection very different from what happened to religious faculties. This research is field research which qualitative method. Relying on the Theory of Integration and interconnection from Amin Abdullah, the research using a Philosophical and Phenomenological Approach to help researchers in their efforts to uncover the root of the problem. After conducting a study in a holistic approach, the results of this study show that the application of scientific integration in the Secular faculties UIN Yogyakarta has not been able to run well. In generally, faculty functionaries-lecturer to implement these Integration- Interconnection thoughts still trapped in a frame of mind ayatisasi. This is caused by several things; first, standard not yet available for syllabus and Course Outline (SAP) based on Integration by University Leaders who are specialized for Secular Faculties, so that the lecture in compiling syllabus and Course Outline (SAP) find it difficult to fill in the Integration-interconnection column; second, lack of cooperation, communication and dialogue between leaders, heads of departments, secretaries of study programs and lecturers Secular faculties with functionaries and lecturer in religious faculties to correct each other, provide input and experience of each during the lead and teach in the Faculty; third, there is no attempt at special islamic studies training for lecturers non UIN Yogyakarta conducted by the University Leader, so the lecturers Secular faculties feel they have no ability in the field of islamic studies, especially when teaching Islamic Studies in their respective Faculties; fourth, there are several courses taught by each Faculty-study program Secular which indeed cannot be integrated and interconnected, so that the material is still left to stand alone without linking it with other scholarship.
