Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the financial risk of banks in conventional commercial banks and Islamic public banks for the period of 2015 – 2019. The risks compared are credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk ,market risk. In describing these various risks, several ratios are used, such as NPL and NPF, LDR and FDR, BOPO, and NIM and NOM. This research uses a sample of research, namely 10 Conventional Commercial Banks and 10 Islamic Commercial Banks during the period of 2015-2019. The analytical method used is the Independent Sample T-test for normally distributed data and the Mann Whitney test for data that are not normally distributed with the IBM SPSS program. The results of the analysis of credit risk, operational risk and market risk as measured by the ratio of NPL and NPF, BOPO, and NIM and NOM show differences. Meanwhile, the liquidity risk as measured by LDR and FDR does not show any difference.
