Abstract

Problem Based Learning is a learning model characterized by real problems as a context for students to learn critical thinking and problem solving skills and gain knowledge. This study aims to 1) Design IPA LKPD with a Problem Based Learning approach for class VIII SMP/MTS students; 2) Knowing the quality of LKPD with Problem Based Learning approach for SMP/MTS class VIII students; 3) Knowing the response of students after using the IPA LKPD with a Problem Based Learning approach for students of SMP/MTs class VIII on the subject of vibrations and waves. This research is a procedural R&D research that adapts the procedures for developing a 4-D model device, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research was carried out until the development stage. But only up to the limited testing stage. Research instruments in the form of interview sheets, instrument validation, product validation, assessment sheets, and student response questionnaires. The research instrument using data collection techniques in this assessment is a non-test technique with a questionnaire method. The results of this study include: 1) IPA LKPD has been developed with a problem based learning approach on vibration and wave materials; 2) The quality of the IPA LKPD with a problem based learning approach on vibration and wave material based on the assessment of material experts 3.6 with a very good category; media expert 3.6 with very good category; and 2,725 science teachers with good category; 3) the student responses to the limited test showed that the average student agreed with the product being developed with an average score of 0.805. The results of this study indicate that the IPA LKPD with a problem based learning approach on vibration and wave material is appropriate as a source of independent learning.
