Abstract

This study aims to analyze competitiveness and determinants of Indonesia’s agricultural export to five ASEAN bigest countries namely Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam in 2005-2018. The data in this study are secondary data which obtained from UN Comtrade with SITC Rev 1 classification (SITC code 0, 1 and 4). Analyses were performed using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamic (EPD) and using gravity model and panel data with Common Effect Model to explain determinants of agricultural export. The result show that the classification of agricultural sector which have the highest competitiveness are SITC code 4. Based on the EPD, shows that market position is Rising Star is Malaysia, Thailand and Viet Nam. Based on gravity model, it is shown that the increasing on GDP per capita of Indonesia have positive effect on SITC code 4 export. Meanwhile, the increasing on foreign direct investment of destination country, exchange rate of destination country and economic distance have negative effect on SITC code 4 export.
