Abstract

Regional economic development is a process of development done to promote the growth of new economic sektors so that it will give a big impact to the economy in an area. The purpose of regional economic development is essentially to realize the productivity and independence of the economic side for the area. This research aims to determine the superior economic sektor in Ngawi regency. The data used is secondary data from the gross Regional domestic product of Ngawi Regency and East Java Province in 2014-2018 which was obtained from the Central Statistic Agency (BPS). The methods of analysis used in this research are Location Quotient analysis (LQ), Growth Ratio Model (MRP), Shift share, Typology Klassen and Overlay. Based on the results of this study, there are several sektors in Ngawi district, such as information and communication sektor, health services sektor and social activities and other services sektors. There is also an excellent economic sektor but depressed and potential sektors. These sektors can be a priority in implementing the policy of economic development in Ngawi district so it is expected to move the sektors that are not yet advanced.
