Abstract

Body and sexuality have always been issues that are discussed from time to time because they are related to human existence. This issue is often discussed at various levels, across religions, academics, to everyday life. In various social settings, sexuality and women's bodies are often constructed by cultural, social and religious norms that shape identity and also the concept of how to be a woman or a man. This kind of construction often makes women marginalized, discriminated against and even subjected to violence. Women's bodies and sexuality are considered as something taboo and even as a moral system in which the morality of a woman is then seen from how she takes care of her body. This kind of understanding is still carried and even preserved by them, especially by the preachers. One of them is in the preaching of Ustad Syafiq Riza Basalamah. From this context, this study wants to respond to three important questions, namely: first, how are the forms of body discipline and women's sexuality in preaching ustad Syafik RIza Basalamah. Second, what is the position of Ustad Syafiq Riza Basalamah's da'wah in the project of female body discipline and sexuality. Third, what are the implications of body discipline and women's sexuality in the da'wah of Ustad Syafik Riza Basalamah. This study uses qualitative research methods related to how to understand a symptom, phenomenon or event. For data collection methods, namely documentation and online search methods. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that body discipline and women's sexuality in the preaching of Ustad Syafiq Riza Basalamah are still gender biased, which benefits men and harms women. Women's bodies and sexuality are controlled and controlled by existing rules. In the discourse that was built, it was seen how Ustad Syafiq Riza Basalamah strengthened the position of masculine domination in which men remained the rulers in various fields and placed women under men and restored the position of women in the domestic space. The mechanism for disciplining women's bodies and sexuality certainly has implications for subordination, stereotypes, discrimination, marginalization, violence and a double burden on women.
