Abstract

Kalijaga State Islamic University, Yogyakarta. 2022. The background of this research stems from the researcher's interest in the theme of online learning for children with special needs, namely slow learners during the Covid-19 pandemic and this theme has not been discussed by previous researchers. This research was conducted on 5 (five) slow learner children in the VA class at SD Negeri Tamansari 1 Yogyakarta with the aim of knowing 1) online learning strategies for slow learners in the VA class at SD Negeri Tamansari 1 Yogyakarta; 2) problems of online learning for slow learner children in the VA class at SD Negeri Tamansari 1 Yogyakarta; 3) achievement of slow learner children's learning outcomes in the VA class at SD Negeri Tamansari 1 Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were homeroom teachers, Special Assistance Teachers (GPK), and parents of students with special needs class VA. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, condensing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data by way of triangulation of sources and triangulation of techniques. The results of research related to online learning for slow learner children in Class VA at SD Negeri Tamansari 1 Yogyakarta, include: 1) Online learning strategies are seen from three learning stages, including: a) the planning stage, namely making lesson plans according to the abilities of slow learner students, preparing media online learning in the form of WAG and Hardcopy student assignments, as well as preparing teaching materials in the form of learning videos from YouTube b) the implementation stage is by using individual learning strategies. c) the evaluation stage is by using the google form, videos or photos, as well as book media. 2) Problems during online learning include: a) students tend to be lazy in doing assignments, b) students do not have their own cellphones/gadgets, c) lack of attention from parents to children so that it becomes difficult to control children's behavior, d) teachers have difficulty differentiating students with special needs and regular students, e) assessments that are less effective. While the efforts made by the teacher are by conducting home visits and coordinating with parents of students. 3) The achievement of learning outcomes for slow learner children in VA class can be seen from three aspects of assessment, namely attitudes, knowledge, and skills. In addition, the dimensions of the soul in slow learner children such as spiritual attitudes, responsibility, and student discipline are attitudes that are optimized by teachers to determine the achievement of slow learner children's learning outcomes.
