Abstract

Development of teaching materials is one way to increase the creativity of educators. The material that became the object of IPA is the from of physical or real natural phenomena. Experience is the best teacher because we can learn form experience. Experiential activities help the learning became active. This research aims to: (1) produce a physics pocket book based experiential learning as independent study grade X SMA/MA, (2) find out the quality of the physics pocket book based experiential learning according to material experts, media experts and physics educator, (3) find out the student responses and implementation of the physics pocket book based experiential learning. This research is a Research and Development or R&D. Development procedure for this research using a 4-D development model includes stages: (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Disseminate. However, this research was carried out until the development stage, namely a wide trials. Research instruments are in the form of instrument and product validation sheets, assessment sheets, student response sheets and implementation observation sheets. The assessment of product quality uses a likert scale with a scale of 4 while stundet responses use a Guttman scale made in the form of a checklist. The implementation of the product uses a descriptive sheet. The result of this research is the physics pocket book based experinetial learning on simple harmonic motion material. The quality of the physics pocket book based experinetial learning on simple harmonic motion material based on assessment from material experts, media experts and physics educator can be categorized as SB (very good quality) with an average score of each assessor 3.63; 3.29; dan 3.65. Student responses to the small field and the large field obtained the S (agree) criteria with the average score of 1.00 and 0.91 respectively. As a result of the implementation of the product some students still need help.
