Abstract

This research aims to 1) Produce a physics module based on guided inquiry models with experimental methods of simple harmonic motion material for class X SMA/MA which can facilitate students’ higher order thinking skills, 2) Know the quality of the resulting physics module, 3) Know the students’ response to the physics module produced. The method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) method. Meanwhile, the development procedure refers to the ADDIE model which includes five phases, there are the analyze phase, the design phase, the develop phase, the implement phase, and the evaluate phase. However, this research was limited only to the implement phase and product trials were also only carried out in a limited manner to 21 students of class XI PHYSICS at MA Minhajut Tholabah to find out students' responses to the product. The instruments used in this research were validation sheets, assessment sheets, and student response sheets. The assessment sheet to assessing product quality uses a Likert Scale with 4 alternative answers, namely SS (Strongly Agree), S (Agree), TS (Disagree), and STS (Strongly Disagree). Meanwhile, student response sheets to determine student responses to products using the Guttman Scale with 2 alternative answers, namely Yes or No. The results of this research are a physics module based on guided inquiry models with experimental methods of simple harmonic motion material for the class X SMA/MA. The quality of the module based on the results of the assessment by material experts, is in the very good category (SB) with an average score of 3,55. Meanwhile, the quality module based on the results of assessments from media experts and high school physics teachers, received a good category (B) with an average score of 3,25 and 3,23 respectively. Then, the students' responses to the module in the limited trial obtained the agree category (S) with an average score of 0,97.
