Abstract

The process of education is changing humans to be better in knowledge, attitudes and skills. If the practice emphasizes more on the aspect of academic achievement, it will ignore the morals of students, therefore the school must be responsible for the failure of moral development to students. In line with moral development, in America a Coombs school implements a leader in me program. They teach skills that are often neglected, namely the skills of making the right choices, social skills, and time management. The purpose of this paper is to explain the occurrence of moral development in the leader in me program by using the Ps "Five" theory which explains how to develop morals in the leader in me program at the Aqzia Kuantan Singingi Islamic Elementary School, Riau Province. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research location is SD Islam Aqzia Kuantan Singingi. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation, interview methods, and documentation methods. The observation method is to observe the phenomenon of the implementation of moral development in the leader in me program. The interview method was conducted with school principals, teachers and students of SD Islam Aqzia. The documentation method is to document everything related to moral development through the leader in me program. Data validity was carried out using triangulation techniques by cross-checking. The findings of this paper are Ps "Five" as an answer to the objectives of the leader in me program as moral development, namely from the point of view of; (1) perspective becomes the root in the emergence of moral development. This perspective responds to the Leader in Me program implemented to produce schools with an international perspective by preparing generations who have good morals. While the implementation of student moral development through the leader in me program is seen from the point of view; (2) Ps "Five" on the points of policies, programs and personnel becomes the implementation of moral development in the leader in me program. Principal policies that provide direction for teachers to carry out training, provide books, program monitoring and supervision. Moral development programs in leader in me require teachers who are active in carrying out moral development methods such as habituation, exemplary, lectures, association, punishment, stories and advice. Personnel in moral development are students' backgrounds and educator competence in increasing resources. While the results of fostering student morals through the leader in me program are seen from the point of view; (3) Ps "Five" in practice makes teachers and students have good intentions, prioritize knowledge, respect teachers, consult, have good morals, have high aspirations and take lessons.
