Abstract

English language education is a very important aspect for early childhood in the era of globalization which is developing so rapidly, English has become an international language as access to various information and communications. KinderStation Kindergarten uses the IEYC curriculum in the teaching and learning process, in learning activities, English is a mandatory language so that the ability for children to master English is required. In this case, of course, children must be able to master the language with various learning methods applied by the teacher, especially the habituation method. The research method is using a qualitative method. Sources of data obtained by observing, interviewing and documentation. The author conducted interviews with 4 teachers and 2 parents of students. The data analysis technique is done by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. In testing the validity of the data, the authors use data triangulation techniques. The results of the research show that: 1) The form of English habituation is carried out by providing vocabulary for children to be applied in learning communication. Then the teacher will guide the child if there are mistakes or the child does not know the spoken English vocabulary. On the other hand, the form of habituation is carried out by playing activities, drawing, singing, worksheets, performing arts, compiling vocabulary and so on. 2) The habituation method has an effect on children's learning, by using the habituation method, children will be more effective in mastering English. The habituation method is applied consistently so as to achieve the goals of learning. 3) Mastery of English has a major impact on encouraging self-confidence for children, children who are able to master English tend to be active in various activities both at home and in the family environment. Confidence arises along with the growth and development of children who must be assisted by teachers and parents of these early childhood children.
