Abstract

The brotherhood in the text of Fī Zilal Al-Qur’an is unique from other interpretations. The brotherhood or spirit of human unity in Fi Zilal Al-Qur’ān interpretation has a close relationship with humanity and the imposition of God. In his interpretation Qutb mentions that a mistaken brotherhood can lead people further and further away from humanity and the essence of divinity. What should be underlined is the lebelization of jahiliah on human unity other than Islamic brotherhood, the necessity to kill muslims or non-muslims who come out of the Islamic brotherhood (Jamaah) and the necessity to follow one Islamic leader and kill another Islamic leader. This study aims to obtain an overview of brotherhood in the text of Fī Zilal Al-Qur’an, find the relevance of fraternal thought in the texts of Fī Zilal Al-Qur’an to the Muslim Brotherhood movement and explain the relevance of this thought about sayyid Qutb brotherhood in a contemporary context. The theories and approaches used in this study are Paul Ricoeur's Hermeneutics and Hypodermic Needle Communication Theory. The type of research is descriptive qualitative research with data collection in literature. The interpretation of the text finds, the fraternal thought of Sayyid Qutb in Fī Ẓilal Al-Qur’an includes three kinds of brotherhood. The three classifications of this fraternity according to Qutb include nasab or hereditary fraternities, Islamic brotherhoods and jahiliah brotherhoods. The nasab fraternity is a god-ordained natural bond of fitrah that must be maintained. Muslim brotherhood is the essential relationship that the creed has as its signposts. The jahiliah fraternity is a man-made bond that worships modern idols in the form of gender, tribalism, nation, nationalism and others. The brotherhood of jahiliah must be abandoned because it is considered to worship something other than God. However, although at first the brotherhood of descendants was seen as side by side with the Islamic brotherhood, at the reflective stage Qutb stated that the brotherhood of descendants is a bond that is no different from the bond of animals whereas man is exaggerated in terms of reason. So it can be understood that according to Qutb the brotherhood of descendants is also included in the brotherhood of jahiliah and the thought of qutb is to focus on two fraternities namely the Islamic brotherhood and the jahiliah brotherhood because in this case the sacralization in the form of idols of descendants is practiced. Based on the results of this study, an overview of the relevance and influence of Fi Zilal Al-Qur’an text was obtained on the development of the Islamic fundamentalism movement. For a country with high homogeneity, it causes fundamentalism movements, radicalism to the point of extremism and even terrorism. In contrast to this, for a country with high heterogeneity of society, it actually educates the nation, enriches insights, matures associations, builds tolerance, is able to adapt, estimate and overcome unwanted things well.
