Abstract
Sex education is still considered a taboo among Indonesian people, discussions related to sexual issues are heavy and have negative connotations. The lack of knowledge related to sex education causes various negative impacts in society, such as the rise of sexual violence cases. This is realized by an account @taulebih.id which makes Instagram a platform to discuss Islamic-based sexual education in Indonesia, with one of its contents, namely digital comics. This research aims to find out how the comic elements in the digital comic content of the @taulebih.id Instagram account convey moral and sex education messages. This research is categorized as qualitative research that analyzes moral and sex education messages in three digital comic uploads in the @taulebih.id Instagram account with the titles “Ketika anak bertanya…”, “Hah!! Perempuan mimpi basah” dan “Cara sehat mengendalikan syahwat”. Researchers use the Roland Barthes semiotic analysis technique which divides meaning into two levels, namely linguistic meaning (language) and mythical meaning. Language consists of signifier and signified (denotation sign), while myth comes from denotation signifier and signified (connotation sign). The results showed that there are connotative signs in the form of moral messages in the form of adab listening to others showing the importance of sex education in all circles, moral messages in the form of honesty so that sex education becomes an open conversation in the family, and moral messages in the form of sincerity in advising so that sex education can be a light and intimate dialog
