Abstract

The background to this research is that the increase in acts of violence in recent years has greatly concerned the community. In Indonesia, there are many acts of domestic violence experienced by women. Currently there are still many cases of domestic violence (KDRT) that have not been revealed, due to various factors such as the victim being afraid of the perpetrator, being ashamed because it is a family disgrace, or a permissive culture that forgives the perpetrator. To minimize the occurrence of domestic violence, it is necessary to have an institution or consultation service to reduce the occurrence of violence. With a focus on family counseling to reduce domestic violence for husband and wife couples at the Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta Religious Affairs Office which examines the process of implementing family counseling to reduce domestic violence for husband and wife couples at the Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta Religious Affairs Office to achieve this. With the aim of finding out how the process of implementing family counseling is to reduce domestic violence for married couples in KUA Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta. This research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. The techniques used in data analysis are data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions in testing data validity, the author uses technical triangulation. Triangulation technique is a qualitative method that explores the truth of information through interviews, observation and documentation methods. The subjects in this research were 5 people with details of 2 clients, 2 counselors, 1 head of KUA. With the object of the family counseling process in reducing domestic violence for married couples. The research results show that there are 3 steps used in the family counseling process to reduce domestic violence in married couples, namely: (1) Initial stage, (2) Middle stage (work stage), (3) Final stage (action stage)
