Abstract

Philanthropic institutions are one of the institutions that work to deal with social problems, one of these institutions is the Amil Zakat, Infaq and Shadoqaoh Nahdhlatul Ulama Institution (LAZISNU) which is directly managed by one of the Islamic organizations in Indonesia. This institution is tasked with collecting and distributing community funds which are then distributed for the benefit of the community, good coordination between institutions, developing strong synergy in the collection and distribution of zakat, infaq and sadaqah funds. However, there are also challenges related to differences in capacity and resources between regions that affect program effectiveness. This research aims to analyze the Islamic philanthropy movement carried out by the Amil Zakat Infaq Institute and the Shadaqah Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta Special Region (LAZISNU DIY) with a focus on coordination patterns between LAZISNU at the district/city level throughout DIY. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects of this research were 5 people consisting of LAZISNU administrators. Data collection in this research used observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the coordination pattern carried out by LAZISNU D.I Yogyakarta and LAZISNU district/city branches has a coordination pattern including coordination mechanisms, coordination activities, the impact of coordination patterns on Islamic organizations/philanthropy. As for the many supporting factors in coordination, there are inhibiting factors, including lack of coordination between institutions, lack of human resources, lack of human awareness. Based on the description above, the analysis of this research shows that the coordination carried out by LAZISNU DIY with LAZISNU Regency/City has gone well in accordance with the theory put forward by Hasibuan.
