Abstract

The empowerment carried out by the Sugara Farmer Group extension workers was motivated by the lack of awareness in the surrounding community of their potential. Therefore, Sugara Farm wants to play an active role in agricultural development through the development of human resources, especially the Karanggintung Village community. This empowerment has the main goal of developing coffee potential to create a good environment and the welfare of farmers in Karanggintung Village. This research discusses the process and impact of empowering the Sugara Farm coffee farmer group using descriptive qualitative research. The purpose of this research is to describe the process and impact of empowerment by the Sugara Farm farmer group. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that the empowerment process is carried out through three stages. The first stage begins with the awareness stage, where the empowerment process is carried out with socialization to make the community aware of the potential that exists to be developed. The capacity-building stage: this process focuses on an educational approach so that at this stage farmer group members are given training materials, including agriculture. Finally, the empowerment stage is a process of giving people power according to their potential. This empowerment stage focuses on increasing farmers' independence. hen there are three main impacts of empowering farmer groups, namely 1. Integrated agricultural practices 2. Karanggintung Village becomes a tourist village 3. Increased Spirituality
