Abstract
Fiqh of Islam recognizes an agreement, known as "rahn", which holds a goods as a guarantee. In its Syariah application, relationships between individual debitors and creditors can be implemented in the form of al-qardhul hassan or mudharabah. Extending the debitor-creditor relationship to involve company institutions brings multiaspects consequences. The two formats can also be used here. In either case, a syariah pawn shop acts as robbul maal, while its customers have the role of rahin or mudharib. Important aspects in this scheme are legality, capital, human resources, institutional format, systems and procedures, control, fees, and the types of goods.
