abstract: This research are purpose to knows the level of acidity collections in the
library institute and archives area DIY. The measuring of acidity it self to make it
easy of facilities effort deasidifikasi in the library institute and archive area DIY.
This research include to quantitative descriptive research. The subjet in this
research were all paper-based on extensible collection in BPAD DIY, which is a
collection of references, rare, circulatory, deposit, and quarantine collection. While
that the object in this research is the collection, which isconsisting of 50 collections
from every category collection. Technic collecting data are measurement,
observation, documentation, and interview. Teh instrument from this research is a
single pH paper.
The result from the research showed that rare collection is the first
positionplace which highest degree of acidity, where as collection which lowest
degree of acidity is a collection of deposit. Therefore the rare collection should get
handle deasidifikasi first, in order to maintin knowledge or information whish appear
on it.
