description: The purpose of this research is to explore how behavioral praying the  elderly, by seeing what motivation of elderly in performing ritual prayers in  congregation, what is the meaning of congregation pray for the elderly, and what  effect congregation praying on the elderly to themself physically, psychologically,  and socially.  This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The informan of  this research are two elderly, from Bantaeng regency, South Sulawesi. The data  are collected by dialogic interviews technic with informants, and significant other  informants as a data supplement. The data were analyzed using thematic  technique.  The results of this study found that the informant had established routines  praying since they are kid, because of habituation which is formed by the  surrounding environment. Each informant interpret the ritual congregation pray  differently, as a source of reward as well as saving dying as a container for  silaturrahmi. Physical impact on their strong and never severe disease, as well as  social concern.
