This research was analyzed to gold recovery necessity. The main aim of this research is to expand the effectiveness of the materials using in adsorption-reduction [AuCl4]-. The synthesis was done through co-precipitation method at 60oC using 200 kHz ultrasonic wave, NaOH as precipitating agent, solution Fe3+/Fe2+ with molar ratio 2:1 and salicylic acid 0.05 M. Mag-ASUS solid synthesized were characterized using FTIR and XRD. The application of Mag-ASUS to gold recovery was analyzed by examining the effect of pH, interaction period and adsorption isotherm. The research results show that Mag-ASUS not only has good adsorption capacity, but also has magnetic quality. Hence, the gold recovery was easily done by external magnetic field. The optimum adsorption of HAuCl4 using 10 mg Mag- ASUS was achievedat pH 3. The equilibrium was done for 180 minutes. The adsorption capacity of [AuCl4]- using 2,0x10-4 mol g-1 Mag-ASUS needs 23.6234 kJ mol-1 energy so that it was categorized in chemistry adsorption.
