%X This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the educational toys  based on media to improve calculation skills of student in class 2 SDN Wonotirto,  Bulu, Temanggung. The low calculation skills affect the the learning outcomes of  mathematic lesson. It’s caused by the method of theacing, that limited to the  material, assignment, and jaritmatika. We need a new method that can be adapted  to the cognitive development of student. The method of teaching using educational  toys (for student in grade 1-3) requires the presence of concrete object.  The subject were 10 student, that divided into two groups, experimental  group (5 students) and control group (5 students). They are second grade student  at SDN Wonotirto, Bulu, Temanggung. The design of study which used is pretest  and posttest control group design. The methods of data analysis techniques which  used is Mann - Whitney U.  The results of the data analysis between post-test experimental group and  the control group showed a significance level of p = 0.032. It means there are  differences calculation skills between the control group and the experimental  group. The mean score of the experimental group after the treatment was given  greater compared with the control group (7.5 > 3.5). So, educational toys based  on media is effective to improve the calculation skills.
