        abstract = {Taman Pintar is one of Yogyakarta?s travel destination for tourist to spend
their time with their family. As with other tourism places, the visitors in
Taman Pintar always need a mean to gain information about that place. One
of the tools used by Taman Pintar to communicate with the visitors is a set of
sign system. Sign system basically consist of identification, direction,
regulation, and orientation sign system. In order to measure the effectiveness
Taman Pintar?s sign system, the researcher used a method called DRM
(Direct Rating Method). DRM incorporates several aspects, which are
attention, comprehension, cognitive effect, affective effect, and behavioral
effect. The research was held on 24th of December 2013 using a questionnaire
with total respondents 100 people. The researcher calculate the mean of each
aspect, which would be converted into Direct Rating and entered into Direct
Rating Method table in order to find out the effectiveness of the sign system.
Taman Pintar?s sign system considered into Good category for effectiveness
as communication media, as it has 63.5408 score in Direct Rating Method
table.
