%X In the writing of the research, the writer formulated 1 principal problem  are how is how is quality of Newgenlib 3.0.4 as software library automation  system based on open source based on theory Richard W Boss. The purpose of  this research is to find out how is quality of Newgenlib 3.0.4 as software library  automation system based on open source based on theory Richard W Boss. This  research characteristic is descriptive-qualitative. The data collecting method are  observation, documentation, and interview,. The process of data analysis with  Miles dan Huberman Model are data reduction, data display, and conclution  drawing. The testing of data validity dan reliavility use 3 phases are credibility  test, transferability test, dependability test or confirmability test. The result of this  reseach is software Newgenlib 3.0.4 has fulfilled indicator based on theory  Richard W. Boss about 6 number are There is current development activity; At  least the cataloging, circulation and patron access catalog modules are currently  availabe, and acquisitions and serials control are in development; MARC is  supported; Current Source code and documentation are available for downloading.  Under the GNU General Public License; The product is currently in use in  libraries; Scalability is not an issue- there is no risk of database size or activity  levels exceeding the capacity of the software. From evaluation software  Newgenlib 3.0.4 with 6 number have result that quality of Newgenlib is fullfilled  as software library automation system based on open source.
