abstract: Yogyakarta as one tourist destination in Indonesia has a growing number
of hotels, based on data from Central Bureau of Statistics tourism Yogyakarta
Special Region, in 2010 there were 37 five-star hotel with a capacity of 3,595 and
a budget hotel rooms as much as 415 hotel rooms with a capacity of 7,270. In
2011 built 14 hotels ranging from one star to five-star with 890-room capacity,
whereas there are three budget-class hotels with 106 rooms. Which it makes more
and more options for travelers .
In this research the recommender system using the method TOPSIS (
Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution ). The method
system is based on the concept where the best alternative have the shortest
distance from the positive ideal solution, but also has the longest distance from the
negative solution.
The system is designed for android smartphone that allows users to easily
accessible. The system displays a result of recommendation to advise the selection
of hotels for tourists in order to choose an appropriate hotel.
