"Teak woods is one of the necessary requirements, especially in the\r\nfurniture industry. The good quality teaks can be determined from the color and\r\nage of the wood. One way that can be used to determine the age of Teak Trees by\r\ncalculating the number of growth rings of the tree. Counting the total of growth\r\nrings in the wood can be do it manually by experts is to look at the tree cross\r\npieces. Based on the studied in the previous study, we developed the research of\r\ndigital image processing for detecting the growth rings of wood with doing\r\nanalysis the image of a tree and compiring with manual observation.\r\nIn this research, there are three main processes, that is pre-processing,\r\nprocessing and analysis. To knowing the accurate method at each stage then do\r\nsome experiment. The experiments were performed using 14 images of teak trees\r\nobtained from 3 different places.\r\nFrom the experiment get result obtained appropriate steps for image\r\nprocessing Teak tree is In the pre-processing stage of the processes carried out:\r\ngrayscalle, contrast. Next on stage after the pre-processing is the skeleton\r\nmorphology. And for analysis is labeling process and the counting.
