This research is sampling research which has 60 respondents. In collecting the data, the writer observed the respondents, distributed questionnaires, interviewed the respondents, and made documentation. To describe storytelling and reading interest the writer uses mean and grand mean formulas, while to prove the influence of storytelling and reading interest the writer uses productmoment correlation formula. After analyzing the data, this research leads to the findings that storytelling and reading interest include in very high level category. The influence of storytelling and reading interest are in significant level that is 5% with N=60 in the amount of 0,227. Thus, r (contris) is bigger that r (table) (0,999>0,227). It shows that correlation coefficient between storytelling and reading interest has a very strong and very high correlation. Further, the relation between storytelling and reading interest shows a result in the amount of 0,557. It includes in the category 0, 40- 0,70. It means between variable X and variable Y, there is a medium correlation or sufficient correlation. At last, in this research, the writer suggests the school librarian to add more books interested by the students. For the school side, it will be better for the teachers to give storytelling before learning process is started. It is to encourage the students to be more interested in reading.
