%X This research entitled Information Searching Behavior By Students Of  Biology Department State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta In Making  Practicum Report. The purpose of this research is to formulate the information  searching behavior of biology students in making practicum report, the method that is  used in this research is qualitative method. The data was collected by observation,  interview and documentation. The validity of the data was checked by triangulation,  and membercheck. The data was analyzed by using data reduction, display and  concluding. The result of this research was that information searching that were  concluded by Biology Students State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta  was due to the factors of needing to complete course work requirements and the  interest of each student in searching information. The five informant search the  information by interacting with a variety of information sources like using internet,  reading book in the library or reading friends book. The information sources that are  used by Biology students in making the report practicum are the books and the  internet. The five informant do not use specific strategy or technic, they do simple  searching by type key word of practicum title in google or google scholar as the  machine of information searching. The results of the searching are journals or  research result that has been published in the format of pdf.
