"This research aims to understand a model to increase reading interest\r\naccording to the characters in novel Perpustakaan Ajaib Bibbi Bokken. This\r\nresearch used pragmatic approach and the focus is a model to increase reading\r\ninterest. The type of this research is library research. The researcher collected the\r\ndata by reading, recording and documentation method. The sources of this\r\nresearch are primary data, which is in the form of text contained in the novel\r\nentitled Perpustakaan Ajaib Bibbi Bokken and secondary data are textbooks,\r\nresearch reports, theses, articles, papers, resources from the internet and other\r\ninformation sources both printed and electronic or digital which related to the\r\nobject of this research. The validity of data are persistence or constancy\r\nobservation, peer examination through discussions and discussions with experts.\r\nThe method of analyzing data is text analysis. The results of this research are\r\nmodel to increase reading interest according to the characters in novel\r\nPerpustakaan Ajaib Bibbi Bokken there are 1) Benefits of reading, they are a)\r\nreading can develop imagination; b) reading can make personal satisfy or gain\r\npleasure; c) reading can develop intellectual and good character; d) reading can\r\nexpand knowledge and insight; e) reading make smart. 2) Factors of reading\r\ninterest are a) curiosity about facts, theories and principles, knowledge, and\r\ninformation; b) internal motivation, desirability; c) availability of reading\r\nmaterials; d) families environment (parents). 3) The efforts to increase reading\r\ninterest are a) introducing the work of writers; b) introducing biography of\r\nfigures; c) introducing the books; d) giving some school task; e) giving a reading\r\nhabits; f) telling story at bedtime; g) discussing books; h) celebrating of the\r\nnational book day by distributing free book to children.
