Umar Sidik, SIP., M.Pd. abstract: This research aims to formulate a model reading strategies foster children through fairy tales. This study is a qualitative research, where research in Kindergarten Islamic Integrated Taruna Teladan Delanggu Klaten. The data was collected using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using descriptive analysis begins with data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The validity of the test data using triangulation techniques. The results of this study, the 3M strategy to foster interest in reading through fairy tales in children Kindergarten Islamic Integrated Taruna Teladan Delanggu Klaten as follows: 1) Preparing a fairy tale, which is preparing a theme, place, and props. Diverse themes presented, such as: a fairy tale of the Prophet and the Prophet, animals, environment, and others. The place for storytelling can be done in the classroom and outside the classroom. Props used are books, and picture books. This is to introduce books directly to children. 2) Storytelling 15 minutes, started clapping and singing as encouragement, and then pass on to the children to listen and listen to tales that would convey cleric, then use the book and expressive storytelling with intonation and expression motion is good. With a duration of 15 minutes on a regular basis fairy tale. 3) End the fairy tale, by conveying the message, show or lend books to the children, and gave some questions or send children to retell or practicing together. 3M strategy can be seen the behavior of children during storytelling activities. Children are keen to listen, interested in seeing the props (book), flipping the picture book, wanted to borrow a book, curious and asking, answering questions from the cleric, want to tell me again, pleased when practicing together. Thus through the 3M strategy to foster interest in reading early childhood.
