abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between resilience and
academic procrastination on undergraduate students of Psychology, Faculty of
Social Sciences, Humanities of the Islamic State University Sunan Kalijaga
Yogyakarta. The hypothesis of this study is there is a negative relationship
between resilience and undergraduate students academic procrastination. The
population used in this study are undergraduate students of psychology Islamic
State University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta numbered 587 undergraduate
students. The sample were numbered 114 undergraduate students from the class
of 2010 till class of 2013. Methode of data collection used quantitative methode.
Data collection tools using resilience scale and the scale of academic
procrastination. Analysis of the data using the technique of Pearson's correlation
product moment with 16,00 SPSS for Windows. The results showed there was a
significant negative correlation between resilience and academic procrastination,
which has a correlation coefficient (r xy) = -0.606 and p = 0.00 (p <0.001).
Result of the higher the resilience of the students, then there is a lower tendency of
academic procrastination. On the contrary the lower the resilience of students,
then there is a higher tendency of academic procrastination. Resilience giving
affect academic procrastination of 36.7%.
