        abstract = {This study aimed to describe hope and gratitude of glaucoma patient. This
research is expected to portray the hopes and gratitude that occurs in glaucoma
patients. This study, using a qualitative approach through a case-study data
collection methods of observation and interviews (semi- structured). Informants of
this study consisted of three people suffering from non-congenital glaucoma, which
these three informants on over 20 years.
The results of this research showed that there were differences in the
process of achieving hope by each informant . Influential factor in this case is the
level of hope, even so background of informant (economic conditions, age of
diagnose,and the character each informant) also influented by informants. Moreover,
gratitude of pasien has an effect to hopes and the condition glaucoma patients. This
influence can be seen in agency thinking and pathways thinking possessed, even hope
management that done by each informant tends to equal the inhibition and
facilitation are doing well as prevention despair of any hope that was not achieved.
Hope and gratitude of informants also affect to the condition suffered by glaucoma
disease progression.
