description: The purpose of this study was (1) identify the availability fiction collection  in the library SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta, (2) to describe the use of the library by  students in SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta, (3) to describe the influence of availability  fiction collections on the use of the library by students at SMP Negeri 5  Yogyakarta. The population in this study were students of class VII and VIII  totaling 613 students. The sampel in this study were 123 students who were  selected by random sampling and researcher making use attendance number at  intervals of 5. Methods of data collection in this study used a questionnaires,  observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study the  availability of relatively good collection of fiction with an average value of 3.16.  the library utilization by students at SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta quite well with the  average value of 2.62. The results this study from product moment correlation  analysis that the influence of availability fiction collectionon the use of the library  by students at 0.410. this shows that the influence occurs classified of as  moderate. The suggestion in this study that (1) the library should add to the  collection with less age appropriate fiction junior to be more varied, so students  interested in reading and using the library, (2) a rare type of fiction collections in  demand by students as more publicized drama again in order students are not only  motivated by the type collection of fiction such as novels teenlite and, (3)  recommend that teachers require students to borrow books every homework  .
