Moreover, current students have low motivation in learning and achievement is still not satisfactory, especially for subjects of Islamic Education (PAl). Therefore the aim of this study is to provide an overview ofwhat changes occur in Islamic Education teachers (PAl) after getting a teaching certificate and its impact on the quality of learning. This research is a case study using a qualitative? approach. The number of subjects studied as many as 10 people, consisting of the principal, a teacher of Islamic education, and some students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This research data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. While the validity of the data using triangulation. Analysis of the data using the words, because this research is descriptive. The results showed: 1) The change of competence as a teacher of Islamic education in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta undergo certification which includes pedagogical, professional competence, personal competence, and social competence. 2) There is an increase in the quality of learning in which teachers are certified educators views of motivation and achievement of learners.
