The kind of this research was quasi experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The variable in this research consist of independent variable called PBL models and PjBL models and dependent variable called higher order thinking skill. All of XI natural science grade academic year 2014/2015 of State Islamic Senior High School LAB UIN Yogyakarta were used to populations. Sample technique has done with non-probability sampling sorts satiate sample. The first of XI natural science grade as 1st experiment class with PBL model, and second XI natural science grade as 2nd experiment class with PjBL model. The pretest matter and posttest matter were used to data gathering technique. The data analize teqnique used central tendency, disperse size, and Normalized Gain. Result of this research showed that PBL different from PjBL toward student?s higher order thinking skill. The PBL?s posttest average score (11,67) were more little than PjBL?s posttest average score (15,18), the deviation standard of PBL posttest (4,75) were higher than PjBL (4,64). Raising of student?s higher order thinking skill in PBL class were 0,234 (low N-Gain) < PjBL class were 0,359 (middle N-Gain).
