The disease significantly affects the productivity of chili. The aim of this research was to investigate the antagonistic ability of Trichoderma harzianum agains Colletotricum species. The possible mechanism of antagonistic activity was also observed. The antagonistic assay was conducted by dual culture and culture filtrate methods on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) and Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB). The alteration of Colletotricum?s hyphal morphology was observed using microscope. The result of dual culture method revealed that T. harzianum could suppress the growth of pathogenic fungi C. capsici and C. acutatum with inhibition percentage were 28,5% and 30,4% respectively. The percentages inhibition of culture filtrate method were 22,2% and 37,5% respectively. The antagonistic mechanisms that occured among T. harzianum and Colletotricum might be through competition and antibiosis .
