N2  - This research is aimed (1) to understand about how does the availability of
collections in Puspita Wangi Libraries at SD Negeri Lempuyangwangi; (2) to
understand about how does the factors affecting the cognitive development of
children in Puspita Wangi Libraries at SD Negeri Lempuyangwangi; (3) to
understand about influence the availability of collections on the cognitive
development of children in Puspita Wangi Libraries at SD Negeri
Lempuyangwangi. This kind of research is a survey research done with the
quantitative approach. The population of the research are 502 students of all
students at SD Negeri Lempuyangwangi, with the sample 83 students. Taking of
sample is done by using proportionate stratified random sampling. The main data
are collected by distributing questionnaire which applies likert scale of four
alternative answer. Meanwhile, the supporting data are collected from the
interview and documentation. For the calibration and reliability validity, it uses
correlation of product moment as well as alpha cronbach. Data analysis uses mean
and grand mean, correlation of product moment and Regresi Linear. This research
resulted the availability of collections in Puspita Wangi Libraries is good, evident
from the results of a mean and grand mean calculation is 2,95. The cognitive
development of children in Puspita Wangi is good, evident from the results of a
mean and grand mean calculation is 3,25. The degree of correlation ?influence the
availability of collections on the cognitive development of children in Puspita
Wangi Libraries at SD Negeri Lempuyangwangi? significant with value 0,441, the
direction of a positive relationship, the level of the relationship with coefficient
correlation interval between 0,40-0,599. Regresi Linear is Y=9.607+0,243X. The
authors suggest the Puspita Wangi libraries to add a new collection every year,
specially audio visual collections.
