N2  - An audio visual library is a place for keeping and collecting library materials consisting of cassettes and CDs. Based on the observation, the collection of CDs and DVDs in the library of the Indonesia Institute of the Arts has not been catalogued but only classified and inventoried. The audio visual materials have not been processed according to the applicable regulation. The book fulfilling the valid standard chosen by the writer is AACR. The service in the audio visual library of ISI Surakarta still uses a manual and closed system. 
This research aims at finding out the activity of audio visual processing. The data used in this research are the primary data obtained from the answers to the questions asked to the respondents who in this case are the librarians of the audio visual library of Indonesia Institute of the Arts, Surakarta and other sources supporting this research. 
Based on the above background, the problem of the research can be formulated, namely, how the audio visual processing in the library of ISI Surakarta is done. The research aims at finding out the activities of audio visual processing. 
Based on the results of the analysis, it is suggested that the librarians working in the library of ISI Surakarta process audio visual collection in accordance with the theory.
