"This thesis is entitled \"Relationship of Transformational Leadership style\r\nand Organizational Commitment to Librarians Performance at the Library of State\r\nUniversity of Malang\".\r\nThe ability of a leader is a factor that highly affects the success or the\r\nfailure in an institution or organization. Therefore, transformational leadership\r\nstyle attributed in a leader is expected to improve the quality and performance of\r\nsubordinates in an institution/organization. In addition, organizational\r\ncommitment serves as loyalty efforts of leaders and staffs in an institution/\r\norganization.\r\nThe aims of this study are (1) to examine the relationship of\r\ntransformational leadership style and organizational commitment. (2) to examine\r\nthe relationship of transformational leadership style and the performance of\r\nlibrarians at the library of State University of Malang. (3) to examine the\r\nrelationship of organizational commitment to the performance of librarians at the\r\nlibrary of State University of Malang.\r\nThis is a quantitative research with correlation research design and ex post\r\nfacto method approach. The population of this study is 32 librarians at the Library\r\nof State University of Malang. Variable in this study consists of independent\r\nvariables (X1) which is Transformational leadership style, (X2) which is\r\nOrganizational Commitment and dependent variable (Y) which is the librarian\r\nperformance. The data collection method uses questionnaires, observation and\r\ndocumentation. The research instrument is tested on its validity and reliability.\r\nThe method of data analysis is multiple regressions.\r\nThe results of the research reveal that (1) there is correlation or a positive\r\nand significant relationship between Transformational Leadership Style and\r\nOrganizational Commitment in the Library of the State University of Malang. (2)\r\nthere is a significant relationship between Transformational Leadership Style with\r\nLibrarian Performance at the library of State University of Malang. (3) there is a\r\nsignificant relationship of Organizational Commitment to the librarian\r\nPerformance at the library of State University of Malang.\r\nThis study provides a clear picture of the real condition regarding the\r\nrelationship of transformational leadership style and organizational commitment\r\nto librarian performance that can be used as a reference for the next leaders in\r\nrunning his leadership, especially in the library State University of Malang.\r\nIt is necessary in further study to develop research which does not cover\r\nlibrarian only as research subject but broaden the research subject to\r\nadministrative personnel of the Library of State University of Malang that a more\r\nperfect study can be obtained."^^ .
