The study was conducted in three elementary school in the district Mungkid, Central Java. Based on the results of the study concluded that the method used by the teacher in the learning process before and after the certifi cation is changing. Post-certifi cation methods used are more varied. This change occurs because the teachers acquire knowledge manifold learning methods when PLPG (Professional Teacher Education and Training). The approach used by teachers in science teaching is also changing. Before certifi ed using the concept approach, and certifi ed sesusah approach process skills, and scientifi c inquiry to cultivate the ability to think, work and scientifi c attitude. Based on interviews and observations, in addition to improving the welfare of teachers’ certifi cation can also improve the quality of science teaching.
