abstract: The agricultural sector is one of the most noticed sectors by the
government of West Sulawesi, but a problem that becomes less-noticed for the
government is the availability of information system to map the agriculture
potency in West Sulawesi. Therefore this research aims to develop a Geographical
Information System which gives information of agriculture potency data for
society of West Sulawesi.
Geographical Information System of agriculture potential was developed
by using PHP programming language, MySQL database, QuantumGIS as mapping
software and Google Map API v3. System development method used was the
method of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Based on testing result, 10 respondents state that this system is proper to
be implemented, can work properly, has quite attractive interface, easy to use, and
able to provide information needed by the users.
