The subjects of this study were 40 (N=40) employees of BMT Beringharjo Yogyakarta. The instruments of data collection used in this study were a scale of the quality of work life (growth and development, participation, physical environment, manager, reward and benefit, social relevance and social integration) and a scale of the Islamic work ethic (effort, competition, transparency and morally responsible conduct). The method of the data analysis used a correlation technique of Pearson’s product moment with program of SPSS 16.00 for Windows. The result indicated that there was very significant positive relationship between the islamic work ethic and the quality of work life with correlation coefficient (rxy) = 0,779 and p = 0,000 (p<0,001). It means that the hypothesis was accepted. The higher the islamic work ethic was, the higher the work life quality of BMT employees in Yogyakarta city was as well. Rather, the lower the islamic work ethic of the employees was, the lower their quality of work life was too. The islamic work ethic affected the work life quality of BMT employees in Yogyakarta for 60.7% indicated by R square = 0.607.
