"The purpose of this research was to examine the correlation between social\r\nsupport and emotional intelligence. The hypothesis of this research is there were\r\npositive correlation between social support and emotional intelligence. The\r\nsubjects in this research are 79 (seventy nine) teachers of Extraordinary School in\r\nYogyakarta. This research used scale of Social Support based on the social\r\nsupport dimention by Sarafino (2011) and scale of Emotional Intelligence created\r\nby researcher based on the emotional intelligence dimention by Goleman (2002).\r\nData analysis was performed with statistical technique Product Moment from\r\nPearson, with the help of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software.\r\nFrom the analysis data, the result has the values of r = 0,717 and p=0,000\r\n(p<0,001). Thats mean the hypothesis in this research are acceptance. There are\r\nvery significant between Social Support and Emotinal Intelligence of\r\nExtraordinary School teacher in Yogyakarta. The contribution variable of Social\r\nSupport toward variable Emotional Intelligence in this research was showed by\r\nthe coefficient of determinant (r2) value of 0,515. Social support contributed\r\neffectively 51,5% toward Emotional Intelligence, while the rest of 48,5% are\r\ncontributed by other factors.\r\nKey words: The Emotional Intelligence, Social Support, and Teacher Extraordinary School."^^ .
