The kind of this research is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The variable in this research consist of independent variable called search, solve, create and share (SSCS) learning model and dependent variable called critical thinking skill. All of students of 10th mathematics and nature science grade academic year 2014/2015 of MAN Yogyakarta I were used to populations. Sample technique has done with simple random sampling, so it?s selected X MIA 2 as experiment class and X MIA 3 as control class. Pretest and posttest instrument were used to technique of data collection. The technique of data analysis using parametric statistic called t-test, normalized gain (n-gain) and effect size. The results of this research show that (1) there is a difference of student?s critical thinking skill between search, solve, create and share (SSCS) learning model and expository learning model with the difference of average posttest score between experiment group and control group showed by sig.(2-tailed) value lower than signification value (0,000 {\ensuremath{<}} 0,05) with the result that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. (2) Search, solve, create and share (SSCS) learning model is effective to increase student?s critical thinking skill on optics material. Those who passed with the value ? 65 are 23 students (85,19\%) and N-gain value of experiment class upper than N-gain value of control class (0,64 {\ensuremath{>}} 0,45), both of class in medium classification. Effect size in high classification (1,073).} }
