Since its emergence, Instagram gives considerable influence on people's life, especially young people. Traveling was originally a need. Since Instagram appears, it becomes a lifestyle. Tourist attractions are more explored. With these phenomena, researcher wants to examine the response of using instagram on students who seeks travel references through Instagram. Since the appearing of Instagram, there is a change in society that is people are more enthusiasts for traveling. Besides, the existence of tourism activities and the use of Instagram make the publication of tourism activities and tourism places are easier, so it creates curiosity in other people. Instagram is one of practice social medias that can be used either social media or information media in searching travel references. The research entitled "Responding the Use of Instagram as Travel Reference" aims to describe the response of students of using media in seeking the travel reference through Instagram. The method of the research is descriptive qualitative method. The data collection methods that are used are deep interview, observation, and documentation. Interviewing the students is used to collect information about the use of Instagram as reference media. The average students use gadget that is equipped with an android device, so it is easier to access Instagram.
