The kind of this research is quasi experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The variable of this research consist of independent variable called cooperative type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) learning models and dependent variable called students motivation and study result. Population in this research is 11st grade as control class and natural science grade of state Madrasah Aliyah Wonokromo Bantul academic year 2014/2015. Sample’s taking in this research has done with saturated sampling technique, so that it’s selected natural science 1 on 11st grade as control class and natural science 2 on 11st grade as experiment class. The technique that being used is instrument of test called pretest matter and posttest matter and instrument of questionnaire called questionnaire of the students motivation. Technique of analizing data using descriptive statistic and N-Gain formula. The result of this research showed that learning of physics using cooperative type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) learning models effective to improve about motivation and cognitive study result physics. Effectiveness citeria refers to 75% of the number of student received greater value or equal than 75, and N-Gain learning outcomes and motivation in learning physics of students significant. Bassed on posttest scores, 85% of students in the experiment class showed greater value or equal than 75, the students cognitive study result eksperiment class more effective having N-Gain 0,83 (high) whereas control class having N-Gain 0,50 (medium), and motivation in learning physics of students eksperiment class having N-Gain 0,253 (low) whereas control class having N-Gain 0,151 (low), so effect size 0,687 effective toward by enhancement medium category. %Z Norma Sidik Risdianto, S.Pd.,M.Sc.,
