abstract: This study is aimed at identifying relationship between religiosity and big
five personality and altruism in LSM (NGO) in Yogyakarta. The subjects of this
study were 74 volunteers in LSM HIV and AIDS. Data collection method used in
this study was altruism scale form Mussen et.al, religiosity scale based on John E.
Fetzer, and big five personality scale adapted from International Personality Item
Pool wich was organized based on Costa and McCrae. The data was analysed
using multiple regression. By using multiple regression, the analysis showed that
there was significant positive relationship with 45,6% (R=0,456) with p=0,000
(p<0,05). Both religiosity variable and big five personality had effective
contribution towards altruism with 35,8% for religiosity and 24,5% for big five
personality. It means that the major hypothesis was accepted, wich was there was
a relationship between religiosity dimension; daily spiritual experience, value,
belief, forgiveness, private religious practice, religious/spiritual coping, trait
extraversion personality, conscientiousness, agreeableness, neuroticism, and
opennes to experience; and altruism. Religiosity dimensions which had significant
positive relationship with altruism were forgiveness and religious private practice.
Big five personality trait wich had significant positive relationship was
conscientiousness. However, religiosity dimensions such as daily spiritual
experience, value, belief, religios/spiritual coping; and big five personality traits
such as extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticsm, and openess to experience had
positive relationship with altruism but not significant.

[ABSTRAK INDONESIA]
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara religiusitas
dan kepribadian big five dengan altruisme pada relawan Lembaga Swadaya
Masyarakat (LSM) HIV & AIDS di D.I. Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah
relawan LSM HIV & AIDS yang berjumlah 74 relawan. Pengumpulan data
dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala altruisme berdasarkan teori Mussen, dkk.,
skala religiusitas berdasarkan teori John E. Fetzer dan skala kepribadian big five
modifikasi dari International Personality Item Pool yang disusun berdasarkan
teori Costa dan McCrae. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis
regresi ganda. Hasil analisis regresi ganda menunjukkan hubungan positif yang
signifikan secara bersamaan sebesar 45,6% (R=0,456) dengan nilai p=0,000
(p<0,05) dengan variabel Religiusitas memiliki sumbangan efektif terhadap
altruisme sebesar 35,8% dan variabel Kepribadian big five dengan sumbangan
efektif terhadap altruisme sebesar 24,5%. Artinya, bahwa hipotesis mayor
diterima, yaitu terdapat hubungan antara dimensi religiusitas daily spiritual
experiences, value, belief, forgiveness, private religious practice,
religious/spiritual coping, trait kepribadian extraversion, conscientiousness,
agreeableness, neuroticism dan opnness to experience dengan Altruisme. Dimensi
religiusitas yang mempunyai hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan altruisme
adalah dimensi forgiveness dan dimensi religious private practice. Sifat/trait
kepribadian big five yang memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan
altruisme adalah conscientiousness. Sedangkan dimensi religiusitas daily spiritual
experiences, value, belief, religious/spiritual coping dan trait kepribadian big five
extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticsm, dan openess to experience memiliki
hubungan positif yang tidak signifikan dengan altruisme.
