ID - digilib21037 UR - https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/21037/ A1 - NUR ROCHMAH, NIM. 12140068 Y1 - 2016/03/28/ N2 - This research aims to: (1) Understand about soft skills library staff at the Library of FISIPOL UGM Yogyakarta; (2) Understand about excellent service at the Library of FISIPOL UGM Yogyakarta; (3) Understand about influence the soft skills library staff on the excellent service at the Library of FISIPOL UGM Yogyakarta. The kind of this research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this research are all members of FISIPOL UGM Library until February 2016, with the total number 5.990 users. The sampling technique using accidental sampling technique, with the sample are 98 respondent. The main data collection techniques were questionnaires using Likert scale with four alternative answers. Meanwhile the supporting data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Testing the validity using product moment correlation. Meanwhile testing the reliability using Cronbach?s Alpha. Data analysis using mean and grand mean, Product Moment Correlation and Simple Linear Regression. The data is processed using program of IBM SPSS Statistics Version 22. The results of this research showed that the soft skills of library staff at the Library of FISIPOL UGM classified good, it is evident from the calculation of the mean and grand mean of 2,97. Meanwhile the excellent service at the Library of FISIPOL UGM is also classified good, it is evident from the calculation of the mean and the grand mean of 3,01. The level of correlation is said significant with a value of 0,692. The direction of correlation is positive and correlation level is strong with the interval correlation coefficient between 0,40 ? 0,70. Result of simple linier regression is Y = 10,400 + 0,352X and R Square of 0,479. The author suggested the library staff to more actively serve and help user quickly and precisely, and apply the soft skills that they have and try to improve it.
